Nameplates needed Their is a gentlemen in the Green Bay area that restored a 1963 Custom Comet to perfection. He goes by Rapple on this site. He actually had some recast in bronze and chromed. The initial cost was expensive and he mentioned in a previous post that he would entertain having some made to sale if he could get enough interest....pricey but these look like new original equipment. Never heard any more about it. I also am in need of a set of nameplates. Here are some pictures of Rapple's 1963 Custom Comet and the nameplates he had made.
Comet Plates Hey Travlinman - How are things in TN? How's the comet coming? I keep in touch with the fella that had those plates made. He said that a foundry near his home made the plates. The set up cost was expensive but.... if the three of us (yes I need a pair too) go together, we might get a price break, especially if the mold is still available. I was getting ready to check into getting some made, are you all in? The foundry might be more inclined to make 6 as opposed to 2.
I received an email from Rapple and he is checking on getting more name plates made. He also has the Alcoa decals available. I'll let you know.
Alcoa decals too? Didn't know anyone had those. An earlier owner painted over one of mine and the other is completely missing. Would be nice to have them. Looks a little silly without them, just an empty holder.
Nameplates Rapple is back with us. I re-posted this to show him the thread and hopefully there is enough interest to get the emblems reproduced.
