Catmando...good to hear from you, I still run a V-24 batboat...can't get them out of my blood, but I've traded most of my speed in for the beauty of the classic steel hull Chris Crafts, I have a 36' and a 48' Roamer, they're pretty cool, don't scream or anything, but you can have a **** of a nice party on them...if I need the speed the bat is always hiding in the cave.

Absolutely no interest in OSO...

I did however get a good laugh out of the ridiculous article in Powerboat Magazine that actually interviewed the OSO owner. Think of all the people involved in offshore powerboating and they can't come up with someone a little more interesting than a person that didn't even come up with the idea of OSO, but rather had to buy the thing. I can think of no less than 20 people off the top of my head that I would much rather read about. Oh well, enough about them...how have you been? Things are great here and can't wait for spring to hit!

Why do you have two CCs and where do you keep them? Do you take the bat to Lake Mitchygander and kick Cigarette butt?

I broke my motor last November. Was running about 105 on the lake here and the oil pump seized. New motor being built at Derebery Marine on Lake Texoma. See my introductory thread about the boat.

A friend of mine who owns a 30' single engine Liberator cat owns a construction company here in Dallas that is working in the Florida Panhandle on reconstruction from Ivan. He has offered me a job and I will take it. I'll take the boat with me. Nothing like a late-afternoon romp in the Gulf after a hard day's work eh?

The Chris Crafts are basically for enjoyment...I have the 48 for sale, it is in Racine, Wisconsin right now, I was going to do a full restoration, but the 36 has me quite a bit busier, the 36 will actually be a better boat for me as I can use it on a really nice lake about 20 minutes from my house...the 48 would need to be on Lake Michigan.

I primarily run the batboat over on Lake Erie but occasionally Lake Michigan when I don't have an entire weekend to dedicate. It is a blast to blow by some of the 1/2 million dollar boats in sloppy water.

Glad to hear about the new job, sorry to hear about the lost motor. Hope it all goes back together well. Ivan has a lot of people busy throughout Florida...I actually leave in about an hour for Daytona Bike Week, so that should be a good time...riding a Honda Rune...they are beautiful looking bikes for a Honda. That Honda Rune is one VERY nice piece of mechanical sculpturing, with a price tag that rivals Honda's automobiles. The real marvel is Honda's flat-6 cylinder. Smoother than the hang-time after a launch from a 6 foot swell. I've got the 2002 VTX-1800 and I would trade it for the latest creation from Orange County Choppers.

I was going to head up the coast to Bike Week today, but its raining and cold. Two elements that keep the bike in the garage. Yes, it's true... I'm a fair weather biker and not ashamed of it.

Guys, I'm going to split this thead, because it's veered off course. It's important that posts remain somewhat relavent to a threads topic. If you were a newcomer, seeking info on the forum, it could be the difference between finding good, useful information and getting lost in a sea of chat.
