It has been 12 years since I had the carbs on my Roamer rebuilt. They are Carter's on my 427's. Does anyone have a resource to send them out to be rebuilt? Or is there a suitable NEW carb that would work as a replacement? Failing that a resource for a carb kit would be my last resort. Thanks.
Hi, Send a PM to YF Member kiwipushrod he seemed to be pretty knowledgeable about gas V8's in a few threads.
If I recall, Edelbrock took over those old Carter Carbs. They may still have kits or marine carbs available. Good luck,
Carburetor Rebuild Kits, Manuals, Floats, Chokes, Choke Pull Offs and Parts You might give these guys a look. It looks like they have Carter covered as well as some marine applications. Good luck, Mike
Can't tell if you got the carbs working or not, but most national parts chains in the US sell carb kits for the Ford 427. I keep two kits in my spare parts stash just in case.
I had both my carbs rebuilt by a retired guy in my neighborhood they perform great. If you want I can get you his number?
427 Carbs I have (2) 427s in my 1962 Roamer. I replaced the old Carters with new Edelbrocks from JEGS. They have a USCG Marine version.
