1986 Carver Montego 27ft?

First time boat buyer. Looking at a 1986 27ft montego......thoughts? suggestions?

Welcome.
1) When was the gas tank replaced?
2) I believe that's a single with a lot of windage. (hard to dock).
3) Slow boat.
4) Sea trial on a windy day.
5) Are you sure you want to get involved in a 22 year old boat as a 1st?

1) looks brand new. 120 gallon
2) 2 merc cruisers
3) thats ok
4)not yet
5)I understand, its needs some TLC, minor stuff

2) The base weere T Merc 180's...mine cruises at 25 mph @ 10GPH

4) Tab it correctly and it'll ride just fine
5) I enjoy making my boat look better than most new ones :-)

sorry to jump in on your thread but i just bought a 1988 27' montego and the helm labels are faded away... can someone send me the list from theirs??? port and starboard... not the guages ofcourse. Thanks.
