New Owner

My husband and I just purchased a 2002 Carver 444 aft cabin CPMY. The boat is beautiful and of course my my husband is having a great time outfitting new electronics for the boat as well as all new canvas and getting all the details below the hatches taken care of.

Me....I am like a kid in a candy store with adding personal touches to the interior of the boat. The prior owners never used the boat. It only had 205 hours on it. The boat came with ugly bed coverings and 1 set of sheets for each stateroom. I do not like the bed coverings at all. I am not a horse person. Where do you get the bed coverings that are specifically made for the Carver? I have taken the measurements for each bed and they certainly do not match anyhting you can buy from any department store. I have looked on line for custom linens and hte prices are absolutely outrageous.

Welcome, and best of luck with your new Carver. As for Carver linens, you can contact the co. directly. As for general linens, etc. check the back of a few boating mags. for ads. And yeah, get the big credit card ready .

We bought a 2003 Carver 366 last year. My wife has had exactly the same problem. we finally found a local seamtress who agreed to tackle the job but after finishing, she said she wouldn't do another. The online outfits can probably do it for you, but be ready to be staggered with their "marine duty' prices. good luck - Riverman

I can't imagine a private seamstress doing this cheaper than a co. in the business unless, as in the case mentioned above, she didn't understand what she was getting into. One cure is to get a bigger boat where they use standard mattresses . Seriously though this has been the bane of every boat owner for years and there is just no way around it. Pick up a few mags & go on line also and compare. Then get out the big credit card and remember: Bring Out Another Thousand

Some of my past clients have purchased ready made bed spreads and then had a seamstress alter them to fit on the bed.
