I have a 2001 35 express that has no engine room filters installed are they real important or leave like it is....Sams marine said they can't get new ones so what do I do? Thanks Bill
What kInd of filter are you talking about? Filter usually refers to fuel filters, I can't imagine any diesel not having a set of Racors in addition to the engine mounted secondaries? Or are you referring to raw water strainers? If your boat doesn't have any, you probably have external strainers (SS mesh on the thru hull intakes). Didn't you get the boat surveyed when you bought it and looked at the bottom?
the Cabo has side vents on the hull that lets fresh air into the engine room... thats the ones...and they have filters or did have in the engine room on each side..
Roll filter media is readily available from many local sources. Buy some and cut it to size. It is effective, inexpensive, and easy to manage.
