Burger Boat Company 144' Tri-Deck - "Mirgab V" New Launch

MIRGAB V – 144' Tri-Deck

Burger Boat Company, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, U.S.A. — History is in the making with the announcement of the largest single, new yacht construction project in the illustrious and storied 141-year history of Burger Boat Company.

The 144' (44 meter) Tri-Deck, MIRGAB V (pronounced meer-gahb) represents a quantum leap for the renowned builder who just eight months ago, launched the largest Burger ever, the 127' Tri-deck for Mr. and Mrs. Charles Walgreen, Jr. “There has been an unprecedented amount of interest in larger vessels and securing this very special project validates our commitment to this vital segment of the market.” states David Ross, President & CEO of Burger Boat Company. In order to accommodate the larger range of yachts, new facilities are well underway on a state-of-the-art, 42,000 square foot world-class manufacturing complex due to be completed in July 2004.

MIRGAB V was commissioned by a well-known and highly respected Kuwaiti family who has owned several yachts and plans to base the vessel in the Mediterranean on the French Riviera. MIRGAB V will be ABS certified and will be Burger’s first fully MCA compliant yacht which will further elevate the company’s impressive reputation for quality construction.

MIRGAB V will have several very unique features including side deck bulwarks that fold down into a verandah, an integral swim platform that converts to a grand stairway to the sea, a pneumatic circular elevator that raises three deck levels, seven staterooms in the owner’s party and five in the crew’s area. The use of raised-panel African Cherry (Makoré) throughout sets the direction for the classic and elegant interior design.

With delivery scheduled in summer 2006, this vessel will clearly put Burger Boat Company into a new, larger class of world-renowned, ocean-going yachts. The spirit and enthusiasm are running high at Burger Boat Company and the employees expressed their excitement at the news of the project with a unanimous standing ovation. Ironically the City of Manitowoc, where Burger Boat Company has been located since 1863, literally means “place of the great spirit”— a very appropriate distinction!
