Cruising Pics Near Ft. Laud. Boat Show

These pics were taken On Sunday, October 26, 2003... four days before the start of the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show. The intracoastal is a "sea" of boats & yachts near Bahia Mar and Pier 66 this time of year. Enjoy!

I know it's a sailboat, but this black beauty was worthy of being included. This "Blow-Boat" must be near 100' long!

Good looking Striker! The beam on this SportFish is wider than most barges!

I have no idea what make & model this yacht is. It's not in the show, but is docked along the intracoastal between Bahia Mar and Pier 66.

Not sure of the make & model of the express cruiser. Getting to be so many different manufacturers all over the world, you can't keep up.

The angle of this shot is decieving. This yacht is in the 120' to 140' range.. maybe larger. Taken At Bahia Mar while pilings were still being driven into the intracoastal for the Mega & Super Yachts to sit perpindicular to the main dock.

Some of these yachts can make even the most successful people question what they did wrong in life.

OK, it's official... I'm starting to feel like I'm on welfare! This is "Perfect Prescription" by Oceanfast. It was easily one of the largest yachts to be displayed at the show. The largest yacht at the show was "Bart Roberts", a converted ice breaker. The 'Prescription is berthed perpindicular to the main dock. It is so long... it blocks half the intracoastal waterway, which is about 400 feet wide in front of Bahia Mar!

The day cruiser in the foreground gives you an idea of the size of this yacht. For example, notice the black fenders hanging along the side of the hull. They are nearly 5 feet in diameter!
