Various events were scheduled during the show, from product announcments to crew gatherings to private yacht parties. Probably a fewer than in years past, folks still had options and some off-hours fun.
Yacht builder IAG is bringing their new Primadonna line to the US. Built in China with Italian building knowledge and experience, their first offering is a 127-foot model. During the unveiling party, we took a quick look.

YachtAid Global, started by Mark Drewelow and supported by a number of yacht owners and captains such as M/Y Big Fish and M/Y SloJo, delivers aid to those in need in areas where they cruise. They had a fundraiser at Sunset Harbor attended by many in the yachting circles. Aside from a stuffy event, this outdoor party had a band, dj, host yacht (M/Y Pure Bliss) and a visit by some aquatic friends; real mermaids.
Our ever-promoting leader had the girls give the YF symbol. Not a bad look.

Let's get started around the show. Bythe way, we did get night shots of the yachts and they will be posted later.

Hatteras has some new offerings on their GT sportfish line. YF did the review on the 60 GT, and Hatt introduced the 54 GT and 63 GT.

J Craft had one of theirs on display. I have no details on it as I was too busy admiring the look. Picture tooling around the harbor or cutting glass across a morning bay in this baby.

This shot was surprisingly difficult to stage. Simply make a peace sign; hold one vertical and one horizontal to create "YF", then smile. Our mermaids were so mesmerized by camera flashes - much like aspiring Hollywood starlets - they had the attention span of a mini-skirt in a room full of men. Still, the shot came out pretty good. Thanks Tom!

The mermaids were a big surprise and hit of the party. Just need to figure out how to get the "YF" logo on their tail fin.
Back to our program...

Viking had there full display with a few new offerings. Didn't have time to check them out close, so you'll have to enjoy the photos from afar.
Customs helicopter did a flyby to get a closer look.

There were a bunch of builders with models of their yachts on display. Here's a bunch from Maiora.

Of course, feel free to add a funny caption to any shot.

Who designed that passerelle?

A sign of the times? Or what brokers do when the show is slow.

They are, the photo's didn't really show off the non-traditional light blue-ish grey hull color on the 60 and the 63' in the photo's.

At the Omni location Mercury had a beautiful orange/black MTI? racing catamaran around 45' with twin 1350hr Mercury racing engines. They took 2 of the guys that were working the show next to me out for a ride and got it up to 144mph in the bay with them on-board. They said they've had the boat up to 177mph. Unfortunately I was too busy doing demo rides the 3 days I was working there to get over to it and try to get a ride on it.
