Thank you CapLady. It appears you had two different viewpoints, one wet and one dry.

Yes Carl, I took the first pictures from a boat. Later in the evening I had a charter and we docked at Pier 66 so I took some shots at the dock.

it made my top 5

2. A
3. Skat
4. Maltese Falcon

M/Y Madsummer was down in Ft Lauderdale this weekend and if you have never seen her in person, she's GINORMOUS!.

You know you have a big yacht when she towers above the Pelican Bar at Pier 66. Kind of like the tall kid you went to school with who stuck out from the crowd, but this with more beauty and style.

Things come big on Madsummer:

Her bow is in another zip code.

With a dome like that she can be picking up signals from outer space.

That thing can defend the universe.

Exhaust ports look like organ pipes that can belt out a tune

The wing station could be a nice perch when underway

Madsummer dwarfs Ultima III

Nice aft-deck with glass walls

very nice shots! Thanks for posting. Do you happen to have a shot showing both Mad Summer and Ultima III in the same shot? I would love to see the scale difference.

Thanks Captain. For those of us living closer to the mountains than the ocean it is really nice to see these shots. I have never seen a yacht, in person, the size of either Madsummer or Ultima III, and to have such a great photograpic opportunity to see these yachts with a clear scale in relation to each other, buildings, etc... is a real treat. Madsummer is a beautiful boat. I really like the hull color, beautifully flared bow and superstructure composition. Thanks again, great post!

Thanks, and a big thank-you to CapLady for whetting our appetite for Madsummer in the first place. She is a huge yacht and is much more impressive in real life. YF did a review on her so take a look around, or just do a search.

Bill,
don't want you to think everyday is paradise down here in Florida. Just the day before we had torrential rain and heavy winds. That's when everything looks a bit more grey. I think they call it "liquid sunshine".
