92M Project Safari

This is an extremely hushed project and a lot of speculation has been aired about the vessel. Under construction at Blohm & Voss she is said to be launched in 2008, however, when is not widely known. Some sources indicate she will launch pretty soon.

The owner is said to be Mexico's richest man, possibly the telecommunication giant Mr. Slim? Any more information is welcomed.

Hi,

That isn't the Owner.

I heard it was coming out of the shed this morning German time.

Well K1W1, Since he is Mexico's richest man I equated it to him but that was not definitive. As I said many deatils are sketchy about the project. If she was indeed to have been coming out, prying eyes would be in order?

Just as well we don't know. Not a topic to discuss.

Word is, Safari broke out of the bush today. She's fair game now. Hope we some photographers lining up their cross hairs on her!

Project Safari is named "Mayan Queen IV" since there's no other vessel registered the Cayman Islands and is currently in hamburg - i guess there'll be some pictures on the web the next couple of days

also have a look at vesseltracker with IMO 1009479

Hi,

My boat says Georgetown C.I. on the back. I am sailing with a Cayman Island endorsed Certificate of Competency= If there are no other boats registered there where is my boat registered and who issued my C.I.E?

Yes, that is expensive but according to K1W1, he is not the owner. So since we are not entirely sure, let us not discuss it to cause rumour and speculation.

Well, not too bad at 1.1MM a meter as opposed to 2MM a meter from the new 170 meter Eclipse for Abromovitch (sp??)

Cheers,
