Eclipse arrived in Kristiansand this morning but still has the german flag... another sea-trial as it seems.
Her "class" (sorry, i don't know the exact name) has changed from pleasure craft to passanger craft.
Maybe Mr. A has to wait a bit more for his one year-delayed christmas present |

You can't build anything that size that is not SOLAS.

Hi,
Class is short for Classification Society, there are a few of these GL, Lloyds, DNV, NKK and so on.
The vessel Type is what has changed if it were actually registered as a Pleasure Craft before and now shows Passenger Vessel.
Here is the extract from Marine Traffic.
Vessel's Details Ship Type: Passenger
Year Built: 2005
Length x Breadth: 163 m X 22 m
Speed recorded (Max / Average): 21.8 / 14.6 knots
Flag: Bermuda [BM]
Call Sign: ZCDX4
IMO: 1009613, MMSI: 310593000
If you look further down the page you will see where she was previously registered as being German which might well have listed her as a Pleasure Vessel, now she is under Bermuda her actual type is Passenger Ship.

Thanks K1W1,
Is fuel cheaper in Kristiansand, Norway?
Rod
P.S. Interesting how the GPS track seems to start in the middle of the "channel" between Norway and Denmark.

no, i've seen the gps track going from hamburg all the way up to norway, so the time that they save the track data seems to be not that long
Edit: i've just found her going south in the north-sea, so i guess she's going back to hamburg or maybe Gibraltar (and the tracktime is really short, maybe not more than 24 hours)
