I'm about to close on a 33' 1989 with carburated 7.4lt, any idea of fuel burning?
although I'm planing in using it as a trawler most of the time.
are these engines big enough for a heavy boat? any issues I should look for?
Thank you for your advise

If you want a trawler, get a trawler.
The 33 has a very low sheerline, and with the deep V hull there is not much bouyancy or volume in the bow. It will not track well, and be unstable with a snap-roll at displacement speeds. Once on plane, it is a great boat, with great handling... but it was never designed or meant to be operated comfortably as a trawler. Just my $0.02

Hi capt, you are right, what I meant was that I would go slow most the time (which I do anyways), just wondering the fuel burn at different RPM

Thank you
