I need the metal 'H' frame for the sliding side window at the lower helm of a 1978 46.6 Bertram FDMY. The piece slides unto 1/4" glass, is approximately 2 3/4 wide and 40+" long. I've searched several metal fabricators but none had what I need. Any suggestions will be apprreciated

Have you attempted to contact Bertram's parts department? They might be able to point you in the right direction. Try Hatteras or Sam's Marine Parts which specializes in Hatteras parts. Hatteras used similar windshield parts and you might be able to cut the length down on one of theirs.
