La Venezia caught fire!

    Today at 13:30 the MY La Venetia Benetti 37Mt 1975 berthed in Portosole (Sanremo - IM - ITALIA) got a huge fire onboard, the yacht still under fire (15:00).

    This is sad news! One of the best looking classic Benetti´s, she seems to be a total loss? :(

    :confused: :eek: Please clarify...
    Was she seized under charges of criminal acts or failure to pay berthing?
    How about the financial repercussions of this calamity…
    Who will eventually have to pay for this; State, Harbor, Owner, Insurance?
    Any idea how this happened, there seem to have been people hurt in this incident.
    Human mistake or freak mechanical courses?

    The whole port was closed due to fuel on water, the tank of La Venetia has bean break during fire. Almost 14 tons of fuel where in the water's port with the risk of extending the problems to the coast... Having so a potential ecological disaster. Today the port is back on work.
