| Benetti Yachts - ALFA
I have just seen on the Benetti internet site, that Alfa is now called Midlandia, does anyone know who the new owner is and if it will be available for charter ? I have been on it at the Monaco boat show 3 years ago, and I have to say she is beautiful.

Hi Wallace,
I posed this question to Alex Guillard at Benetti. I'll let you know if she has any further information.

Just a typo. She's getting ready for Monaco right now. I may not hear back from her until after the show.

I was invited by Edmiston to the Moncaco boat show back in 2001. Do you think that without the help of a broker, it is possible to visit some yachts ? I know that to get in to the show it's not a problem, but I m talking about physically visiting the yachts.

Most of the manufacturers have a deep appreciation for enthusiasts. You don't necessarily need to be a qualified buyer to tour a yacht. If you personally introduce yourself to the powers-that-be and demonstrate your knowledge and interest, I'm sure they would be more than happy to show you around.
It might help to say your taking pictures for YachtForums too. Most of them are familiar with us (a number of them are onboard) and they have embraced the site. Most of them lurk as guests, but they are here.

According to Alex, Midlandia is available for charter through CNI Monaco. Contact Tom Debuse. No information is available about the new owner.

by coincidence, web surfing yesterday for an RIB, I came across a reference that Midlandia/Quantum of Solace is John Staluppi who owns Millenium auto group

I would not be surprised especially with a name such as "Quantum of Solace" very James Bondish as usual.

See that steaming mast on "Quantum of Solace", that is a dual purpose mast. I did not know that until just now when going through Nautical Structures products. It appears that it is a new product that this company is offering. The mast doubles as a fore-deck crane. http://www.nautical-structures.com |
