Launched in 2002 by Amels, Makkum. Makkum is a little provincial town in Dutch Friesland, just above the famous "afsluitdijk" on the border of the North Sea and the Ijsselmeer. Makkum was the first seat of the Amels yard; today, as part of the Damen Group, Amels has another yard on the river Schelde and is building hulls in Poland as well within the yards of the Damen Group.

This project reportedly started out as a 57 meter yacht that slowly grew to her length today of 62,50 meters. She displaces 1050 tons, has a cruising speed of 17 knots with a maximum of 19 knots and has a wide range of 6000 nm. Impressive figures.

Nice touch with the design of her name. This becomes more and more in vogue : not simply to use a name plaque like 10 years ago, but to do something special with it.

In design and certainly with the blue hull, very similar to the Abeking Excellence III, also from the boards of Donald Starkey. Not the traditional dark blue but a slightly lighter colour of blue...

The international renowned designer Donald Starkey was involved from the start. At first it was thought to let her be constructed by a yard in New Zealand but in the end it was decided that they needed North European builders to do this yacht.

A clear indication of the 11,30 meter beam of the yacht. She carries a permanent crew of 22 onboard.

The top deck has no living quarters as you might expect by seeing the construction : it's a staircase going down together with a pantry and some services areas and compartments. In front a big jacuzzi and in the back a big bar.

Sarah was very active during the second half of August last summer.

On August 14th, she was docked here at the Port de Cannes :

On August 27th, in the evening, she was moored at the entrance to the IYCA at Antibes. With the setting sun, the light was almost perfect; she looked gorgeous :

I glimpsed this beautiful vessel moored alongside the Muelle Bosch in
    Port Vell, yesterday.

Was most impressed and needed to look her up on the 'net, so thanks for the
    previous information.

Just curious, but who's the lucky owner?
