excellent choice

Excellent choice this model is my favorite one too.
they are blood difficult to find since only 25 were produced.

I was lucky to find one last year that was in good condition just needed a fresh paint to look great. I still struggling to find a good and reasonable paint shop in the Rochester area.

I have personnally checked all survivors that I could find here is the result:

ALUMIUM 1963
- RXP 36 1602 in cleavland, OH fully restaured very nice was for sell at 40k$
- RXP 36 1603 in chicago,IL Bill owns it for 30 years don't think it is for sale?
- RXP 36 1604 in San Diego, CA diesel engine poor condition cabin top cut to put bib AC it was recently on ebay arround 10K$ (don't remember exact price)
- RXP 36 16?? in Bay City, MI this one is the photo above in erics mail beautifully restaured for sale : Pier 7 Marina (866) 695-0444 963 E Midland Street Bay City, MI 48706

ALUMIUM 1964
- RXP 36 1609 in St Joseph, IN was sold few year ago coul nit tracjk it down
- RXQ 36 1708 Bladensburgh (DC suburb) siting outside for year bad condition but all original not stipped down for sale for 5K$.
- RXQ 36 1711 Bath, Ontario Canada hull was sanded interior pulled out I believe the new owner was rearchitecting the cabine and top Not sure if it is for sale
- RXQ 36 1714 Mine in Rochester,NY not for sale
- RXQ 36 17?? Lucky 13 Knoxville, TN on ebay at 30K$ reserve not met nicely restaured

Bottom line I have for now only found 10 of the 25 produced.

Let me know if any of you know of an Alumium 1963 or 1964 that was not described above.
Thanks
Ivan

Got four more '62 Riv 36s (AL) listed in the list of known survivors:

1962 Riviera (AL); RXP-36-****,"Dream Catcher" Duluth, MN. Restored over past 7 years, and repowered T/454s. Radar; Near new condition. Enclosed wlhse.
1962 Riviera (AL); RXB-36-140, "NFI", T/283s; for sale on eBay 3/07; looked pretty good.
1962 Riviera (AL); RXB-36-135R; "Just Roamin", Ketchum, OK, Heartland Classics. T/225s (Chevy V8s)
1962 Riviera (AL); RXP-36-155R; "Coverlife", Sabina, OH. Sank in Cumberland, KN in '88. Previous owner moved it to Ohio to restore; died of cancer. Now in my shop (Howard Classics).

Shown below: 1964 Riviera 36 "Lucky 13" (for sale).
Keep those hull#'s coming.
Cheers!

Eric
These number don't look like Aluminum
since aluminum hulls are either 16xx in 1963 or 17xx in 1964
so those hull should be recoded as steel
coverlife is definitly a steel and the number should be RXB(not P) 36 155
Jusr Roaming is a stell I know the boat
and RXB 36 140 is also a steel

The only one I am not sure about is "dream catcher" since there is no number do you have picture that could help identify if it is AL??

Eric thank you for trying to help
Ivan

Eric
After investgation "Dream Catcher" ihas a small winsow on the front of the cabin which makes her a 1962 in 1962 therewas no AL produced in 36' (27' vere AL in 1962)
Unfortunately this is also a Steel.

Now your picture the dark blue registered MC Q912 is an Aluminum Do you have any way of finding this hull number??

Does anyone Know this boat?

I have been working on an old Chris Craft. its steel, but its hull number is close to several mentioned here, my boat is RXB 32-139. A slightly smaller, steel version of the boats mentioned here.

I have the little sister, a 27 custom comet, fully restored, for sale in Northwestern Ohio. I hate sell her but, since we've recently purchased a 38 Regal Sedan, There is more than enough "non ferrous" in our life.
