The beauty of a chaep condo is renting it out, then having a positive cash flow of $400 to $500 per month as the mortgage rates are low and the purchase price is low...Then when the economy swings around, real estate prices should increase and one could sell with a tidy profit.

Of course that assumes that your tenant has a job AND pays his rent instead of just squatting while he steals your plumbing and doors.
