About 10 years ago, I drove up to Ludington, MI (just south of Harbor Springs on the Lake Michigan side) to pick up a boat and bring it back down to Florida. Northern MI is among the most scenic area in our country... but uninhabitable for few months each year!
One thing that stood out was how beautiful the homes were along the water. Brought to mind the 80's era poster... "justification for higher education".
Nice people up that way too.
