This is easily one of the more well-designed yachts of seen, and I cannot wait to hit a party on one. My one question is that as a 75 footer, does it require a captain and crew? I know down below 70 feet is considered the owner-operator spectrum (at least I have been told), and above 80 there needs to be at least a captain and one crewman. And I have been on some 70-ish boats that did have crews and captains quarters.
I imagine given the attention to simplicity of use (and what I have read here) that the LSX was designed to be owner-operated. Why else the simple controls and easy docking? That may also be part of the price I think: since boats around this size or larger may require a crew, that this one can be operated without the need for one at all deserves a premium. And as far as I know, the Volvo Penta engines are not maintence-hogs.
And also to the price, does anyone see this as more a party yacht? After all, while it lacks oodles of deckspace, the salon is so open I can easily see a few flashing lights and some loud music making for one hell of a social space....
And finally, its at least less than I expected it: I imagined a new design like this eating up more than $5 million. Shows how experienced I am in this yachting world.
