On this boat the arch is part of the structural integrity and the top speed is just about 60 mph. With the original hull we were running 95 mph twenty years ago. But this boat was only 80 kg (!) plus engine, fuel and the two of us. The engine was an offshore version of the OMC 300, turning out some 375 hp they said! Scary when you think of it, but the monohull boat was the best I have ever raced with, like a laser beam...
