Clarke Cook House & the Black Pearl are the best that we have found right in town but make sure you make a reservation. They get PACKED early.
West Deck over at West Wind Marina is excellent also.
wavecruiser is right, West Wind IS at the southern end but we found it to be a very nice, casual 10 minute walk to the center of the action.
Newport Harbor Hotel might be better for you if you want to be in the middle of things. I have stayed at the warf (dead center of things) a few years ago and although I was only 38 or so & we had a ball at the night clubs, I found it a bit loud back on the boat.
