As far as the weight of the helicopter is concerned, I think there are a few factors to consider with respects to weight. If the helicopter is going to be stored on a shadow then there shouldn’t be any problems. If the helicopter is going to be stored on the yacht itself, then it is more complicated as it most likely will negatively affect the CG if it is stored on the upper decks.

Personally I really like the heli hanger of Ilona. The only down side to it is that it is a bit too low and the heli might get sprayed with salt. My personal solution would be to have a dedicated owner’s deck above the main deck. Then have the pilot house and Ilona type heli hanger above the owner’s deck. Two tender/rescue boats can be placed to the sides of the heli hanger. This way you can have a sunbathing and social area above the hanger right next to the Jacuzzi & bar above the pilot house on the sun deck.

Of course there are many potential problems to my solution. First of all the boat will probably need to be 230’ up. Stability of the boat might suffer as more weight is put on the top. I always felt that my design will be way too top heavy, but then again Benetti Reverie seems to be doing fine with her 7 decks.
