In re-reading my post, I need to clarify for other readers (because I know Loren follows me), The DDC concept is a single step design placed just forward of the CG. When I spoke of staggered steps, this doesn't mean multiple steps, like those found on performance hulls, but rather a single step in an offset or staggered position.
