Over 35 feet you pay $300.00. That includes 4 persons and a fishing permit.
Not really a tax, they call it a Cruising Permit.

If you come back within 90 days, the next check-in is free.

The above is for pleasure craft, not sure wht commercial rates are.
The paperwork for a Cruising Permit seems to be same as for any commercial vessel: Page after page with declarations and details, ships stores, cargo, diseases or death since last port, etc.

I keep extra copies onboard so we can fill 'em out on the way over and save time on the check-in process.
