Too bad about the sounds... the R8 was never the best sounding car in a field anyways, the R10... ugh, I shudder to think. All I can imagine is a farm-tractor at high RPMs.

This is also what they expect as compared to the other teams petrol engines. You get a lighter car or fewer fuel stops, eventhough I am not familiar with the rules regarding this.

There's already been talk of limiting any diesel powered car to smaller tanks, thus immediately gating any advantage they may have had. Smaller tanks means less fuel weight, but since LMP cars still need to maintain a minimum weight, ballast wil be added.
