Like two weeks ago when we were testing the new Volvo Penta D3, a 5 cylinder 190 hp diesel taken from the Volvo XC90 car.
It is more than 100 kg lighter than the V8 we usually have in our 25 foot commuter and as you see, it leaves a lot of working space around when fitted.
The result with three people and 100 l fuel was 41 knots top speed. Cruising speed 36 knots at 0.77 l/nm and economy speed 30 knots and 0.6 l/nm!
Not bad and I guess most people will now buy this package over the V8...
