Last summer I rented a cottage in Hopetown, Elbow Cay in the Abacos. I rented a 21' Albury Center Console to get around. Having been to many of the Bahama Islands working as a captain I loved not having to tie up, wash down, and taking care of the yacht and owners, I thought it was awesome.
Boat Harbor -Abaco Beach Resort is more resort like but it is also small and laid back. Since it is in Marsh Harbor there are more restaurant choices and some shopping. Marsh Harbor is after all the third largest settlement in the Bahamas and the single traffic light actually works most of the time.
Marsh Harbor is just a short boat ride on the protected Sea of Abaco to lots of other islands that are close by. No need to rent a car, rent a boat.
