New order for Piriou 76.6-meter explorer yacht
A new order has come for a 76.6-meter explorer yacht by Piriou. The new vessel has been designed for operating in extreme conditions, from very hot (+50 degrees C) to the very cold (-20 degrees C). Remember this new yacht will be an explorer yacht and must have the tenders and toys to help execute the exploring themed events.
Two 7.5-meter RIBs sit on an aft platform ready to be used. There is also a separate platform for an exploring seaplane! Additionally, there is a specially designed cargo barge and an 11-meter cabin cruiser. The 76.6-meter yacht will be built in Concarneau, France.
The design is by Pierre Jacques Kubis Naval Design along with the in-house team. A diesel-electric system will be connected to two Pods for propulsion. Top speed is expected to be 15-knots with cruising a few knots slower at 11. Efficient cruising can rack up 12,000 nautical miles in range, quite impressive.
You can expect this explorer yacht to carry eighteen guests and the same number in crew. She will be expected to be launched in 2015 according to schedule.
