AMELS has announced a new concept to meet the growing demand for support vessels among large-yacht owners. DAMEN Shipyard has adapted its AXE BOW Concept, already applied commercially to Crew Supply Vessels, to a new SEA AXE Fast Yacht Support Vessel.
The SEA AXE is a purpose-built vessel, not a conversion. The 50-meter hull is identical to other DAMEN work boats, with a finer finish, delivering speeds up to 28 knots. Damen is already building two SEA AXE vessels, one of which is set for delivery in December 2009. For more… [
