  1. Outer Reef Unveils Trident 3000 Series
A new series is born at yacht manufacturer Outer Reef Yachts. It is called the Trident 3000 series and consists of a near 30-meter and a 32-meter variant. Both yachts are designed by Setzer Yacht Architects and will be Fast Displacement in nature. The ‘big-ship’ feel will be coming to Outer Reef with these two new models in the Trident 3000 series. Spacious living and entertainment areas are a common denominator between the two models.
  2. It appears both yachts will have a five-cabin layout for owner and guests. The master suite is full-beam in nature and located forward on the main deck and easily characterized by the long glazing offering on both sides of the suite. The four other cabins for guests are all located on the lower deck and boast decent sized accommodation overall. Three internal decks are available (lower, main and upper) along with an open sundeck partially shaded by a hardtop. The main saloon will surely be one of the main entertainment and social areas onboard and as seen in the artist rendering, it appears to have an easy-flowing layout and has the added dimension of opening up on the starboard side through sliding glass doors.
  3. The upper aft deck has storage for the yacht’s main tender which is served by its own davit system. If necessary, extra space can be created by putting the tender over the side. Just forward of the tender area is dining alfresco with enough chairs to seat the yacht’s full guest complement. From here you can either head into the sky lounge or take the external stairs to the sundeck/fly bridge. The sundeck area is a comfortable space and is the highest area of the yacht for guests. As mentioned previously, it is partially shaded by a hardtop. A closer look at the design of the hardtop suggests there is incorporation of glass for a more stylish finish.
  4. Aft on the sundeck is room for lounge chairs and stretch-out mode of relaxation. Mid area on the deck has padded seating for a few guests who can surround a small table and have cocktails and light meals. Forward on the sundeck is the secondary helm station offering great views and should be a decent spot to navigate from providing the weather is decent. These long-range cruisers will be able to sail efficiently but can sprint on shorter cruises if needed. The standard engine set up is for twin CAT C18 marine diesels although an owner can choose the more powerful CAT C32 package. With the C18’s top speed is anticipated to be around 15.5-knots. With the more powerful engine setup top speed would be in the region of 21-knots. Outer Reef will be looking to start tooling on these vessels in the near future towards the end of Spring and will be built in Anacortes, Washington.
