New Build Canados Oceanic 90 Fast Explorer sold
The first Oceanic 90-foot Fast Explorer yacht by Canados under construction has been sold! If you were thinking about buying that one, it is not available anymore however, you may be able to see it on display at this years Cannes Boat Show later in the year. The vessel is well advanced in construction with delivery expected to take place in June 2014. The overall aim expected for for a yacht of this type is to offer the owner with a vessel that is higher performance in nature while still allowing lower-than-usual fuel consumption. Ocean Alexander sells OA120' motoryacht and signs two new orders
Ocean Alexander announced that the Ocean Alexander 120-foot motoryacht has been sold. The Ocean Alexander 120-foot Tri-deck megayacht was sold in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This is the first Ocean Alexander yacht purchased by the new owners who were impressed with OA's build partnership with Christensen Yachts, Ltd.
The family plans to take the new OA120 to the Caribbean to enjoy the remainder of the winter cruising season. Afterwards, they will take the tri-deck yacht to the Mediterranean for the summer season. In other news, Ocean Alexander signed contracts for two new yachts, two 70-foot motoryachts. The first is an Ocean Alexander 78-foot which represents the second OA that this owner will have but it will be their first built directly from the factory. Innovative Italian yacht builder Wally announces that the third hull in the WallyCento sailing series of yachts. The series is progressing well with two previous hulls completed and sailing for their respective owners. Benetti F-125 Fast Displacement megayacht in build
Italian yacht manufacturer Benetti recently welcomed the first hull of the new F-125 Fast Displacement megayacht line to their Viareggio facilities near the end of November. The new design, if you remember, was unveiled to the public at the Cannes Show back in September and now the first hull is on track for delivery in mid 2015.
All the Fast Displacement yachts from Benetti will be equipped with the new, revolutionary D2P -Displacement to Planing keel-, that expects to combine performance of a planing keel with the comfort and quiet nature of a displacement hull, the best of both worlds. The hull is a modern and trendy one in design showcasing edgy and hip lines along its length. Look out for her delivery in June, 2015 to be precise.

Heesen 70-meter Fast Displacment superyacht
Dutch yacht builder Heesen has formally announced the signing to build a 70-meter superyacht from the Fast Displacement line. Construction has already started with the keel laying done back in October. Design of the new 70-meter is by world renowned Espen Oeino with interior by Sinot Design. Hull number for this project is Y/N17470. Twelve guests will be accommodated in six staterooms. The large Owner’s suite, traditionally located forward on the main deck, will measure some 85 square meters and includes a generous dressing room, a spacious bathroom and a study. Four guest cabins will be located on the lower deck and a VIP cabin on the wheelhouse deck will boast stunning views. Her crew of 16 will be accommodated in 8 cabins all with private shower rooms...
Benetti launches third Crystal 140' yacht "Soy Amor"
Italian builder Benetti launched a few yachts recently and one of them was "Soy Amor". She is the third hull in the new Crystal 140-foot series from Benetti. The 42-meter megayacht was launched in private fashion a few days ago in the presence of the owner. Soy Amor bears design from famed designer Stefano Righini, no stranger to designing Benetti yachts.
The interior was done mainly by Benetti's in-house team to the owner's satisfaction. The interior of Soy Amor can be described as being contemporary in nature. Metionable feature aboard the third member of the Crystal 140 series include a stunning backlit marble waterfall that was strategically placed in the main foyer for the maximum 'wow' factor and a sizable beach area astern.

DeltaMarine 56.40-meter "My Seanna" superyacht refit
A well known yacht is about to start a new journey, under a new name, a new size, and new restyling. She is the megayacht that was built back in 2001 known as the 48.80-meter "Gallant Lady" by Delta Marine. She became "Newvida" along the way and now she is currently undergoing her major transformation. At the present time, this megayacht is at Rybovich where she will take on her new identity.
Once completed the 48.80-meter megayacht would have grown to an impressive 56.40-meters and be renamed "My Seanna". If that name sounds vaguely familiar, the yacht actually belongs to the same individual that owns the Benetti superyacht "Seanna". Guido de Goort unveils new 50-meter motoryacht design
Yacht designer Guido de Groot has unveiled a new 50-meter motoryacht design. The yacht spreads over four decks and has numerous areas for owner and guests to conduct their relaxation on. The owner has a dedicated owner’s deck, with a forward facing Owner’s cabin that affords beautiful vistas. The other guests onboard have a myriad of cabins that are located aft in the lower deck.
They all have access to a beach club onboard allowing them to feel and establish a connection with the sea from on that deck. The complete yacht has been designed with mobility and access for disabled users. This means that all decks are accessible via a lift and all corridors and passageways are designed to be wide enough and the many obstacles that often exist have been designed out. Rossi Navi signs contracts on 49-meter and 39-meter megayachts
Italian yard Rossi Navi recently signed contracts for two yachts, a 49-meter and a 39-meter megayacht. The 49-meter is a familiar design, a sister to the Prince Shark line of yachts from Rossi Navi. The other yacht, smaller in stature and dimension as well as design and concept will represent a new design area of yacht building for the Italian yard. Alloy launches 56.4-meter sailing ketch "Mondango"
New Zealand yacht manufacturer Alloy Yachts launched their latest superyacht, the 56.4-meter ketch "Mondango". Built for a repeat client their other sailing yacht bore the same name. Mondango follows on the heels of Alloy's last launch, the 44-meter sloop "Encore" launched earlier this year.
Mondango's construction commenced back in 2011 and was assigned hull number AY46 in build. Not surprisingly Dubois Naval Architects behind the Naval Architecture as well as exterior design of the new Mondango while Reymond Langton Studios were chosen for the unique interior design. Her rig comprises of two Carbon masts and booms by Southern Spars with sails by North Sails. She will make the journey to the Viaduct Harbour in Auckland where she will be fully launched into the water...
SanLorenzo signs two contracts at FLIBS
Italian yard SanLorenzo copped two more contracts to their build portfolio from the last yacht show in Florida, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). The two contracts were signed for a SD110 and a SL94. Although coming from production lines, the two megayachts are expected to be customized by their owners to their own personal tastes and whims.
The standard SD110 is just under 34-meters LOA (33.60-meter) and has a BOA of 7.66-meters. The 170-tonne yacht only draws 2.06-meters while carrying as many as ten guests and owner plus five crew. 2 X MTU 12V 2000 M72 power the standard SD110 to a top speed of 17-knots with an autonomy range of 2,750 nautical miles at a leisurely 11-knots. Baltic announces new 35-meter sailing yacht order
Baltic Yachts announces the sale of a new high performance cruising yacht. Build start is scheduled for December 2013. Nauta Design is in charge of exterior styling and interior design for this yacht with the hull lines to come from judel/vrolijk.
The yacht will have a full carbon sandwich construction and be equipped with a lifting keel. Nigel Ingram from MCM is managing the project with the delivery to take place in Autumn 2015. The 35-meter sailing yacht will have an overall beam of just over 8-meters (8.07-meters) and a variable draft. The lifting keel extends out to 5.75-meters and retracts to just 3.55-meters. New Sunseeker 86 model under construction
The first hull of the the new Sunseeker 86-foot line of motoryachts is under construction and expected to be launched next year. The new line of yacht will be utilizing an entirely new hull-form to aid in displacement speeds. Other features four large ensuite staterooms for guests, new interior design and architecture.
Effort has been made to extend the range of this motoryacht and thus 1,500 nautical miles is the new benchmark thanks to her 11,000 liter fuel tank. Midships, the bulwark has a fold-down balcony incorporated. The bow has a social area comprised of a sizable sunpad and a 'U'-shaped seating with table. Canados develops new range of fast Explorer Yachts
Italian builder Canados developed a new line of fast Explorer Yachts from 27-meters to 42-meters. The intended effort was to try to capture those owners who might want the benefits of high-performance coupled with the further advantage of relatively low fuel consumption. This is partly how the new Oceanic Fast Explorer line of yachts were envisioned. We will be briefly looking at two of the members of the Oceanic Fast Explorer line, the Oceanic 90 and the Oceanic 140-footers. Both will have several similarites to them. 1: they will be trans-oceanic sailers. 2: they will be what Canados is terming, 'displaning' yachts. Canados engineers have dubbed a new terminology, the displaning hull. This essentially means that the yachts provide relatively low running costs at speeds sub 14-knots in displacement mode while performance improves dramatically at semi-planing speeds...
